As the end of the academic year approaches, faculty members may begin to look toward the summer months to pursue their own research agendas. The Trinity River Campus Library can help. Not only do we provide access to academic sources for student assignments, but we are also committed to helping faculty members locate and acquire the best resources for their own research. Check out some of our faculty research services below.
Our reference desk is staffed by expert librarians who are eager to help you with your information and research needs. Whether you are writing an article or tweaking a class assignment, let our librarians help you discover TCC resources as well as scholarly, academic content freely available online. No research question is too large or too small. Walk-in assistance is available whenever the library is open, including Saturdays and Sundays during the Fall and Spring semesters. You can also contact a librarian by phone or email to set up a 1on1 reference appointment for face-to-face assistance with your research topic.
Stay informed on the latest developments in your field and keep up to date with new publications through our document delivery service. We can scan current journal or magazine articles, tables of contents, and/or limited pages from reference books and send them directly to your email address, usually within 24-48 hours. To request a document, just call the circulation desk at 817-515-1220.
Inter-Campus Loan (ICL)
Books, DVDs, and other items owned by other TCC campus libraries may be requested and sent to the Trinity River Campus Library through a service known as ICL. When searching for items in our online catalog, sign in to the library using your Web Advisor credentials to request items from other campuses. You’ll receive a phone call or email when your item is ready to be picked up. Please allow 2 business days for transit.
Inter-Library Loan (ILL)
If you need a book, journal article, film or other resource that is not accessible through TCC libraries, we can request it through ILL, a nationwide borrowing/lending program. Items requested through ILL are usually available for pickup from the Trinity River Library circulation desk within 2 weeks. To make an ILL request, call the circulation desk at 817-515-1220.
This program is a free, 3-hour (real-time) workshop taught by the Trinity River Campus librarians. While the primary focus of the class is to help students find, evaluate, and ethically use information found online and through library resources, we welcome and encourage faculty members to attend as well. Here you can brush up on your own research skills using the latest tools and technology. Find out more about the Information Literacy Certificate program by contacting the reference desk at 817-515-1236.
