“With This Pen, I Thee Wed …”
by Adrian Jackson
If writing is your true love, marry it! This workshop is gives you ten compelling reasons to stop hiding your passion and make a public declaration about being a writer. Adrian Jackson, an award-winning columnist and mediocre spellar, will talk about transitioning your romantic notions of writing into a solid relationship with your craft. Like any marriage meant to last, you are going to have to give writing your time, your passion, your understanding, your attention and, above all, your commitment. If are willing to do that, say ‘I will’.
“Writing Creatively part I: Gathering Inspiration”
by Casey Mitchell
This presentation introduces writers to the concepts of building/locating a creative space and utilizing it to facilitate a healthy writing atmosphere. I also draw attention to various techniques I’ve used in the past to get the creative juices flowing, as well as some “go-to” sources that can be used.
“Writing Creatively part II: The Writing Process”
by Casey Mitchell
This presentation delves into the intricacies of the actual process of creating characters and fleshing out a story. I give examples of how to conduct the direction of a story and what other famous authors have done in the past.
